General
All ProgramsMatt Paul Basketball is a Philadelphia-area youth basketball organization founded and run by Coach Matt Paul, a Gold Medal Certified USA Basketball Coach with 22+ years of community presence in the Philadelphia basketball ecosystem. Operating under SIAC Corp (Success Is A Choice), MP Basketball runs six programs — Fun & Fundamentals, Summer League, Summer Camp, AAU, Fall League, and Elite Training — under the tagline Develop. Compete. Lead.
MP Basketball serves players from Grades 1 through adult. Fun & Fundamentals is for Grades 1–4. Summer Camp is for ages 7–15. Summer League runs Mini (Grades 2–4), Girls, Middle School (Grades 5–8), High School (Grades 9–12), and Adult 18+ co-ed divisions. AAU starts at 5th grade — The Dawgs (Grades 5–8) and The Big Dawgs (High School). Training is for serious players at any competitive level.
Programs are based in the Philadelphia area. Summer Camp is held at St. Philip Neri gymnasium. Summer League and Fall League are held outdoors at the Oreland Courts at the Oreland Courts at McKelvie Park in Oreland, PA. Training sessions are held at MP Basketball facilities — contact us for the current training location.

Most MP Basketball programs are open to both boys and girls. The Summer League features a dedicated Girls Division on Wednesdays, presented by the Power Forward Foundation. The Adult division is co-ed. Summer Camp, Fun & Fundamentals, and AAU welcome all players.
Yes. The Power Forward Foundation (PFF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit partnered with MP Basketball, exists specifically to make youth basketball accessible to families facing financial barriers. Contact us at matt@mattpaulbasketball.com to discuss scholarship and financial assistance options.
Summer Camp
St. Philip NeriMP Summer Camp runs eleven weeks, June 15 through August 28, 2026, Monday through Friday. Note: there is no camp the week of August 3. Weeks 7 and 8 (July 27–31 and August 10–14) are afternoon-only weeks — no morning session those weeks.
Half Day AM: 9:00a – 12:00p | Half Day PM: 12:30p – 3:30p (times vary slightly by week — see the full schedule) | Full Day: AM + PM combined. Note: Week 9 (Aug 17–21) afternoon runs 2:30p – 5:30p, and Week 10 (Aug 24–28) afternoon runs 12:30p – 4:00p.
Half Day AM or PM: $245 per week | Full Day: $295 per week. You can register for individual weeks — no need to commit to the full summer. Mix and match sessions and weeks to build the schedule that works for your family.
Yes — camp is priced and registered per week. Register for one week or as many as you'd like. There's no requirement to attend multiple weeks, though players who attend more weeks see greater development over the course of the summer.
All sessions are held at St. Philip Neri Gymnasium — an air-conditioned indoor facility with a professional coaching environment. Drop-off and pick-up are at the same location every week.
MP Summer Camp is designed for players ages 7–15. Players are grouped by age and skill level to ensure the right level of challenge and instruction for every camper.
Players should bring basketball shoes, athletic clothing, a water bottle, and a basketball for warm-up. For Full Day campers, bring a packed lunch. The gymnasium is air-conditioned so dress in comfortable layers.
Each session is structured around skill development, drills, and competitive games — not just open gym. Campers work on ball-handling, shooting mechanics, footwork, and game IQ with MP coaching staff, then apply those skills in competitive scrimmages and game situations.
Summer League
McKelvie ParkThe Oreland Summer League runs June 15 – August 6, 2026 at the Oreland Courts at McKelvie Park in Oreland, PA. Games are played outdoors — real basketball the way it was meant to be played.
Five divisions: Mini League (Grades 2–4), Girls Division (Wednesdays, presented by Power Forward Foundation), Middle School (Grades 5–8), High School (Grades 9–12), and Adult Co-Ed (18+). There's a place for every age and every level.
It's the rule of the league. No game clock, no shot clock — just play until the first team scores 100. It keeps the pace fast, the action constant, and every player running. It's basketball the way it was meant to be played — and it's what makes the Oreland Summer League unlike any other league in the area.
Yes — Summer League teams are coached teams with trained referees. This isn't pickup basketball. Players are placed on rosters, coached through the season, and compete in a real league format with playoffs and trophies.
Registration includes a league jersey, trained referees, coached teams, weekly games, and playoffs. Schedules are communicated via TeamSnap. Updates go out on Facebook and Instagram as well.
Weather updates go out via TeamSnap and our social channels (Facebook and Instagram). Makeup dates are built into the schedule. If you're unsure about a game day, check TeamSnap first or follow us on social for real-time updates.
Yes — the MP Fall Outdoor League runs September through November at the Oreland Courts at McKelvie Park. Summer League players get first access to Fall registration. Visit the Leagues page for details and to join the waitlist.
MP AAU
Dawgs & Big DawgsThe MP Dawgs is our AAU travel program for committed players 5th grade and up. It's not a pay-to-play program — it's a basketball development environment where players learn the game, work hard, and compete with teammates who match their commitment level. Two tiers: The Dawgs (Grades 5–8, Middle School) and The Big Dawgs (High School).
MP AAU is tryout-based. Register for a tryout, attend the structured evaluation with MP coaches, and we'll notify families within a few days of team selection. Tryout registration opens before each season — visit the AAU page or email us to get on the list.
The competitive AAU program starts at 5th grade with The Dawgs (Grades 5–8). Players advance into The Big Dawgs for high school. Both tiers are tryout-based and built around real development and competition.
Yes. 10% off your 2nd player, 20% off your 3rd, and 25% off your 4th+ — automatically applied at checkout when registered under the same parent account.
The AAU season runs November through June, including practices, local tournaments, and travel events. The season is built around player development first and competition second — with a coaching staff that prepares players for what's next.
MP Training
Elite DevelopmentMP Training is for serious players chasing a breakthrough — players who want to earn a spot on a varsity, travel, or elite team and are willing to put in real work between sessions. It's not for casual reps or players looking for an easy workout. If you're ready to commit, this is where the work happens.
Four formats: 1-on-1 Private Sessions ($60+) for fully personalized work, Small Group (2–4 players, $35+) for competitive group training, Position Clinics ($25+) for guard skills, post moves, and wing play, and Film Sessions ($75+) for basketball IQ development through game film breakdown.
Coach Matt Paul leads basketball skills — 22+ years coaching in Philadelphia, Gold Medal Certified USA Basketball Coach. Marc Rodriguez of The Village leads strength and conditioning — basketball-specific S&C focused on power, vertical, mobility, and injury prevention. Both operate under the MP brand and standard.
Training is by inquiry. Email matt@mattpaulbasketball.com and we'll set up a call to talk about your player's goals, schedule, and which format is the right fit before booking.
Absolutely — that's the whole point of the two-lane model. Players can mix and match across basketball skills and strength & conditioning to build a complete training program under one roof. We'll help you structure the right combination based on your player's goals and schedule.
Power Forward Foundation
501(c)(3)The Power Forward Foundation (PFF) is a Philadelphia-area 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses basketball as a vehicle for youth development. Founded and led by Coach Matt Paul, PFF partners with MP Basketball to make youth basketball accessible to all families — regardless of financial situation — through scholarships, programming, and community initiatives.
PFF presents the Girls Division of the Oreland Summer League every Wednesday — bringing dedicated girls basketball to McKelvie Park as part of its mission to make the game accessible and equitable for female players in the community.
Yes — PFF welcomes donations and sponsors. Your contribution directly funds scholarships for players who need financial assistance, and supports programming that keeps youth basketball accessible in the Philadelphia community.
