Team MP
Our program for players who want to be ready — not just playing for fun. Team MP is where middle schoolers and high schoolers train together, compete together, and prepare for the game they're walking into.
One Program. Two Seasons.
Team MP is the top of the MP path — the competitive track for ages 13–17. It runs on two tracks across the year, and they're built to feed each other.
Full-length runs at high school pace, one or two nights a week — or every night on All-Access — plus team basketball on weekends, all close to home.
Our AAU travel teams return in the spring — for players ready to test themselves against competition from outside the city.
Full Speed. Full Court.
Every Session.
Team MP is our competitive track, and it trains like one. Players run full court at game pace from the first whistle — not stations, not lines, not a coach talking while fourteen players stand still. The work is built on three things that have to develop together.
Sessions run 75 to 90 minutes. Players register as individuals — no roster, no tryout. Coaches group by skill and developmental fit and control the matchups, so every player is matched to the right competition and earns tougher runs as they're ready. Girls train in girls' groups and are welcome in mixed runs whenever they want the challenge.
Where & When
Mondays at SCH run 90 minutes on three full courts — our longest session of the week. Train at one gym or mix nights across locations. Center City Fridays begin September 11.
Five Nights. Four Gyms.
Pick As Many As You Want.
All-Access is unlimited training at every MP location. Here is the full week for each age group — come to one, come to all of them, and change it any week you like.
Younger siblings train the same nights, earlier. Every gym runs all three age groups on the same evening, so one trip covers the whole family — and Mondays at SCH Academy put ages 7–12 on separate courts at the same time, one drop-off and one pickup.
Thursday is the only night with two gyms. Gwynedd Mercy in Spring House and Norwood-Fontbonne in Chestnut Hill both run Thursdays, so take whichever is closer that week.
Groups do fill — text or email us the nights you are planning to come and we will hold your spot.
Choose Your Commitment
One Pass. Four Gyms. Every Night.
Your week never looks the same twice. Neither does ours. All-Access lets your player train unlimited nights at any MP gym — Chestnut Hill, Spring House, Center City — and switch whenever the schedule moves. If soccer takes Tuesday, come Wednesday instead. Nothing to reschedule, nothing extra to pay.
Eight-week fall session, September 8 – November 5; Center City Fridays begin September 11. Players are grouped by skill and developmental fit at every location. All-Access also carries 15% off every MP winter camp and clinic. Groups do fill — text or email us the nights you're planning to come and we'll hold your spot. More than one player? Use code MPFamily for $50 off.
Three weekends over the eight-week fall season — not every weekend. Each weekend date is usually two games back to back, so a player finishes with roughly six real games on a coached team.
It's a window, not a lost Saturday — you play and you're done, rather than checking in at 8 AM for a 4 PM tip-off. Puppy Dawgs and Dawgs play in-house games in Chestnut Hill or Spring House. Team MP plays local games and AAU tournaments, including at Shoot Hoops in King of Prussia, where a day can run longer and include more games. Dates go out at least two weeks ahead, scheduled around fall soccer and flag football.
Be Ready When It Counts.
A 13-year-old is a year from a high school tryout where the competition isn't other 13-year-olds — it's 16- and 17-year-olds who are bigger, faster and stronger. The best preparation for that floor is time on that floor. Nothing accelerates a young player like competing against older ones: the pace forces quicker decisions, the physicality builds toughness, and older players model habits you can't teach in a drill.
It's not sink-or-swim. Coaches group players by skill and developmental fit and control the matchups — a 13-year-old earns tougher runs as they're ready for them. The session is shared; the challenge is matched to the player.
And the timing matters: eight weeks of full-court fall basketball ending the first week of November is the difference between arriving at tryouts in shape and spending November catching up.
